All projects are different.

And sometimes, the flow of work and our relationship will be unique. But for most projects, the process looks a little like this.

It starts with coffee.

I’m not the write-to-brief writer you may be familiar with. Instead, our work starts with a coffee catch up. I get to know you, your business, what you want my help with and the kind of outcomes you’re looking for. This gives you a chance to get to know me too so we can both be sure it’s a good fit.Don’t come prepared; just bring your passion.

And a proposal follows.

My proposal covers the what, the why and the how. I use it to scope out the work and ensure we’re on the same page. This proposal may or may not include some options and a quote. But don’t worry, the numbers will be all signed off before I begin working.

The background work begins.

I’ll brainstorm with your team or unpick your existing research and data. This step can also involve things like competitive analysis and content auditing.

Recommendations come next.

I’ll come in to your office or join you on a video call with some recommendations for how to proceed. Once we’re all in agreement, we then move on to the fun part.

My fingers hit the keyboard.

This is me-time. It’s solitary stuff and doesn’t involve lots of back and forth. On larger projects, I’ll send across work as I go so we’re not held up in reviews, waiting for everything to be finalised.

And you type “Approved”.

(Or “Awesome”, which is more fun to type.)

Most projects include two rounds of reviews, but don’t feel you have to use them both. Once you and your stakeholders are happy and ready to go, let me know and I’ll leave you to start the build.

You push it live or to testing.

And we review the results together to ensure things went to plan. We’ll also chat about what’s next: iterations, further roll out, or a whole new project.
